Viral Now: Pinay OFW Sa HongKong, Natagpuang Patay Sa Loob Ng Banyo , Pero Ano Nga Ba Talaga Ang Ikinamatay Nito?
Cases of overseas Filipino workers (OFW) being abused and maltreated by their own employers are rampant, in social media. Just recently, a Filipina domestic helper was found dead in the comfort room of her employer in Hong Kong.
According to The Sun Hong Kong, her employer found her on Jan. 9, 2018. She reportedly lost her life two hours before she was discovered.
The source identified her as Erlinda Diego Cabulong, a 45-year-old domestic helper. It was alleged that she died around 8:45 a.m. after her employer rushed her to Tuen Mun Hospital.
Further investigation revealed that Cabulong’s husband and two children (ages 25 and 23 years old) left her. However, they did not state if she was living with them in Hong Kong or not.
As of the moment, the domestic helper’s body is at Kwai Chung Public Mortuary. It has not yet been claimed by any of her family members or relatives.
“Napakasakit ang biglaan niyang pagkawala, wala man siyang senyales na mawawala na siya dahil nakagroup chat at nakavideo call pa ang mga anak noong gabi bago siya mamatay, kaya di namin matanggap na wala na siya.”
Diego also added that Cabulong’s employer would pay for the expenses in delivering her remains to the Philippines. She said that the employers are willing the shoulder expenses up to Manila only.
Cabulong’s family resides in Purok 4, Villa Santiago, Aglipay, Quirino.
Josephine Nang, Cabulong’s employer, initially released a status on Facebook to alert Cabulong’s family about her death.
The report stated that Cabulong has been working as a domestic helper in Hong Kong for 15 years already. However, she has only worked under Nang since August 2016.
It was also mentioned that the domestic helper last went to the Philippines in April 2017.
